SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft PowerPoint, the Office Assistant may not assist you in style checking even though the Office Assistant is turned on and the Check style check box is selected in the Options dialog box (click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Spelling and Style tab). CAUSEThe Office Assistant does not assist by checking the style of your presentation unless the Using features more effectively check box is selected in the Office Assistant options. By default, PowerPoint automatically checks your presentation for consistency and style, and marks problems on a slide with a light bulb. You can fix or ignore these errors and also change the elements for which PowerPoint checks. The light bulb is not available if you turn off the Office Assistant.
