PPT97: Text Lost After Hyperlink when Inserting Word 7.0 Outline

SYMPTOMS

If you save a Word 97 document as a Word 6.0/95 document, and the document contains a hyperlink, PowerPoint ignores the hyperlink and all text following it when you import the document as an outline.

If you save the document as a Word 97 document, PowerPoint imports it in its entirety.

RESOLUTION

Open the document in Word 97 and save it in Word 97 format. Then you can import it into PowerPoint successfully.
