MORE INFORMATIONThe templates in the \Present folder contain the skeleton for a complete presentation that contains several slides. These templates are designed to integrate with the AutoContent Wizard. The templates in the \Designs folder, on the other hand, do not contain presentation outlines and contain only one slide. SYMPTOMSIf you do a complete installation of PowerPoint 97 from either the PowerPoint 97 or the Microsoft Office 97 compact disc, all of the design templates are totally new. You do not have any of the templates which ship with the previous versions of PowerPoint. CAUSEPowerPoint 97 and Microsoft Office 97 do ship with many of the popular PowerPoint templates from previous versions of PowerPoint, but these files are not installed when you install PowerPoint. These templates are located in the following \ValuPack folders on the compact disc: \Valupack\Template\Present RESOLUTIONChoose the appropriate method to use the templates from the \ValuPack folder: Method 1: Leave Templates on Compact DiscIn Windows Explorer, double-click one of the files in either the \ValuPack\Template\Present or the \ValuPack\Template\Designs folder on the compact disc. PowerPoint will start and create a new presentation based on the template. The advantage to this method is that it requires no additional hard drive space. The disadvantage is that this method does not integrate the templates in the \ValuPack\Template\Present folder with the AutoContent Wizard. Method 2: Copy Templates to Your Local Drive
