-
Microsoft Word 97 for Windows
SYMPTOMS
If you insert a Microsoft Word 97 for Windows table in a Microsoft
PowerPoint 97 for Windows file, the text and table borders may not
appear.
CAUSE
Unlike earlier versions of PowerPoint, PowerPoint 97 for Windows does not
automatically recolor Word tables to make them match your slide's color
scheme.
You may have applied a black background color or used a presentation design
such
as Angles.pot, Fans.pot or Fireball.pot. The default font and line color in
Word
is black.
RESOLUTION
Recolor the table border and font color using either of the following
methods.
Method 1: Recolor the Table
- Right-click the table, click Format Object, and then click the Picture
tab.
- Click Recolor.
- In the Change section, click Colors.
- In the New column, click the down arrow to select the color you want or
click Automatic to have the table follow the color scheme of the
presentation.
- In the Change section, click Fills.
- Repeat step 4.
- Click OK twice.
Method 2: Edit the Table
- Double-click the table object.
- On the Table menu, click Select Table.
- On the Format menu, click Borders and Shading.
- Click the Borders tab.
- In the Color box, click the down arrow to select a lighter color.
- Click OK.
- With the table still selected, click Font on the Format menu.
- In the Color box, click the down arrow to select a lighter color.
- Click OK.
Although you can see the Microsoft Word table on other dark backgrounds,
they may not appear as sharp as you desire. Apply the above methods to
change the table borders and font colors.
