SYMPTOMSWhen you recolor an OLE object in PowerPoint, and then use a copy and paste operation to embed the object in another application, the object reverts back to its original colors. The result is the same whether you choose Object or Picture in the Paste Special dialog box (click Paste Special on the Edit menu). CAUSEThe Recolor command applies color changes to a representation of the OLE object, not to the original object. When you copy the object, the original properties are stored with the object. WORKAROUNDTo preserve the new colors when you paste the object, use either of the following methods. Method 1: Convert the OLE object to a Graphic
Method 2: Convert the Recolored OLE Object to a PowerPoint Object
MORE INFORMATIONThis problem occurs only with recolored OLE objects. If you import a picture (click Insert Picture on the Edit menu) and recolor it, the new colors will be retained when you paste the picture. Additional query words: power point powerpt winppt macppt mac macapps
