PPT97: Visual Basic Error Moving a Slide with an ActiveX Control to Another Presentation

SYMPTOMS

When you move a slide that contains an ActiveX control from one PowerPoint presentation to another, you may recieve the following Microsoft Visual Basic error message:

System Error &H80040201 (-2147220991). Unable to obtain server's security context

This error, however, does not keep the control from working.

CAUSE

You will recieve this error when a slide containing ActiveX Form Controls is moved to a presentation with a different slide size (Page Setup).

WORKAROUND

If you move the slide to another presentation with the same page size, you will not get the error.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
