PPT97: Snap Settings on Drawing Toolbar Change to Defaults When Saved as Template

SYMPTOMS

When you save a presentation as a template, the default values of the Snap To Grid and Snap To Shape settings are saved (Snap To Grid is on, and Snap To Shape is off).

NOTE: To change the Snap To Grid and Snap To Shape settings, click Draw on the Drawing toolbar, point to Snap, and then click To Grid or To Shape.

WORKAROUND

After saving and closing the template, reopen the template and change the Snap To Grid and Snap To Shape settings again. Then, click Save (not Save As) on the File menu to save the template. Your settings are now retained.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
