In Microsoft Excel 2000, when you run a macro that sets the StatusBar property to display descriptive text when the pointer rests over a toolbar button or menu command, you don't see the descriptive text in the status bar. In versions of Microsoft Excel earlier than Excel 97, you can set status bar text for a Visual Basic for Applications procedure, and the status bar text for the procedure appears in the status bar when you place your mouse pointer over the toolbar button or menu item that runs the procedure.
