VIZACT: Spin on a WordArt Object w/ Custom Animation from PowerPoint Does not Work

ID: Q236633

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Vizact 2000

SYMPTOMS

If you apply a Spin effect to a WordArt object that has a custom animation on a PowerPoint web page, the WordArt does not spin as expected, and the top corner of the WordArt becomes clipped.

When you view the page in your Web browser, the Wordart may not appear at all, or a small corner of text may appear.

CAUSE

The custom animation applied in PowerPoint conflicts with the code written when you apply the Spin effect in Vizact.

MORE INFORMATION

To avoid this behavior, apply all animations to an object completely in Vizact. To work around this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Delete the WordArt in Vizact

  1. Open the page in Vizact, and delete the WordArt.

  2. On the Insert menu, click WordArt.

  3. Type the text you want to use, and click OK.

  4. Select the Wordart on the page.

  5. On the Format menu, click WordArt.

  6. Format the Wordart as necessary.

NOTE: If you cannot get the WordArt features you want, you may need to use Method 2.

  7. Apply all of the effects you want to use on the WordArt.

  8. Save the page, and view it in your Web browser.

Method 2: Delete the WordArt in PowerPoint

NOTE: If possible, use Method 1 to make the change to the page. When Office 2000 documents that have been activated in Vizact are edited and modified in the original Office 2000 application that created it, some of the activated content may stop functioning correctly. Specifically, if you reopen the page in PowerPoint, other issues may be caused by making modifications in PowerPoint.
  1. Open the page in PowerPoint, and delete the WordArt.

  2. Reinsert the WordArt.

  3. Save the page, and close PowerPoint.

  4. Open the page in Vizact.

  5. Select the Wordart on the page.

  6. Apply all of the effects you want to use on the WordArt.

  7. Save the page, and view it in the Web browser.
