VIZACT: Items Disappear After Applying Effects

ID: Q236638

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Vizact 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you apply an effect in Vizact to an object on a page, the object disappears from the page.

If you select the object from the time line, a bounding outline may appear on the screen.

CAUSE

Depending upon the effect that you applied to the object, you may not see the item on the page at the specific point on the time line that you specified.

Most effects begin as transparent items, and some effects will position the item off-screen for the effect.

MORE INFORMATION

Because the transitions are off-screen, or invisible, at the current time, you will not be able to see them. To see where an item is at the current time, select the item in the time line. If a bounding outline does not surround the item, it may be located off of the screen in the "gutter" of the page. You may click Show Gutter on the Standard toolbar to see the gutter of the page. If you select an item in the time line that is in the gutter of the page, you will be able to see an outline of the item in the toolbar.

For more information about using the Effects view, click Help and Tutorials on the Help menu, click the Search tab in Microsoft Vizact Help, type the following text

Using the Effects View
and then double-click Using the Effects View.

For more information about viewing the Gutter of the page, click Help and Tutorials on the Help menu, click the Search tab in Microsoft Vizact Help, type the following text
gutter
and then double-click Showing the gutter of a page.
