VIZACT: Cannot Transition an Object in After Transitioning the Object Out

ID: Q236659

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Vizact 2000

SYMPTOMS

If you have transitioned a page element out, and at a later time in the timeline, transition the object back in, when you play the page the item does not transition back in.

CAUSE

Objects that transition out essentially disappear forever. The object can not transition in, or be used on the page after transitioning out.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

To work around this behavior, follow these steps:

  1. On your timeline, delete the effects that occur after the object fades out of the page. For example, the fade-in transition.

  2. Right-click the item in the timeline, and click Format Timing.

  3. Set the "Stop object after" time to end after the fade out effect occurs. For example, if you have the fade out effect start at time zero, the default length of the transition is 3 seconds. Set the end time to be at 3 seconds.

  4. Insert another identical item into the page.

  5. Move the item in the timeline to the time you want the object to transition back into the page.

  6. Apply the Fade-in transition to this second item.
