VIZACT: Interactive Bullets Do Not Work Correctly

ID: Q236662

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Vizact 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you work with Interactive Bullets, the Interactive Bullet does not work correctly or is not properly aligned. No matter how much you try to align or fix the Interactive Bullet, the Interactive Bullet itself no longer appears in the Timeline, and the Interactive Bullet cannot be removed.

CAUSE

Some elements of the Interactive Bullet can be accidentally deleted. If the Interactive Bullet itself no longer appears in the Timeline but other elements of the Interactive Bullet do appear, part of the Interactive Bullet has been accidentally deleted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, remove the text from the broken Interactive Bullet, delete the old Interactive Bullet, and then re-create the Interactive Bullet.

WORKAROUND

Because some of the Interactive Bullet items are not visible on the page, you may accidentally deleted them. To prevent this, use the following method:

  1. On a page on which you want to use Interactive Bullets, insert each Interactive Bullet where you want it to appear in the page.

  2. Copy the text, object, and images that you want to appear into the Interactive Bullet text box.

  3. Do this for each interactive bullet on the page.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior is most common when you try to move Interactive Bullets or delete items (such as blank spaces) around the Interactive Bullet. Although these objects do appear in the Timeline, do not attempt to manipulate the Interactive Bullet itself because doing so may cause unexpected results. The best way to avoid this behavior is to use the workaround mentioned in the "Workaround" section.
