VIZACT: Unable to Drag Multiple Lines of Text into a Text Box

ID: Q236674

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Vizact 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you select multiple lines of text, your text box is also selected.

When you attempt to move the lines of text into the text box using the drag operation, the text may not be copied into the text box.

CAUSE

If you have positioned the text box away from the text, the code for the text box is still included with the two lines of text, causing the text box to be selected when you select the text.

Vizact will not allow you to use the drag operation to move text into a selected text box. The text box is included with the text you are attempting to move.

MORE INFORMATION

To work around this issue, use one of the the following methods.

Method 1: Move the Text Section by Section

  1. Open the page with the text box in Vizact.

  2. Drag the pointer to select the first section of text (select to just before where the text box becomes selected).

  3. Use the drag operation to move the first section of text into the text box.

  4. Drag the pointer to select the second section of text.

  5. Use the drag and drop operation to move the second section of text into the text box.

Method 2: Position the box in-line with text.

  1. Open the page with the text box in Vizact.

  2. Click to select the text box.

  3. Right-click the text box, point to Order, and click In-line with Text. This will move the box to the location it exists on your page.

  4. Use the drag and drop operation to move the text box to the end of the text. Drag the pointer to select your text, and use the paste operation to copy it to the box.

  5. If you want to absolutely position the text box, right-click the text box, point to Order, and click Bring in Front of Text.

  6. Position your text box, and save the page.
