SYMPTOMSWhen you have a Shape, an AutoShape, or a WordArt object that you have set to Semitransparent in Microsoft Word, and you then open and save the HTML file in Vizact 2000, the Shape, AutoShape, or WordArt object is not displayed correctly in browsers other than Internet Explorer 5. For example, if you view the page in Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape Navigator, the objects are displayed in a distorted manner. CAUSEVizact 2000 does not properly support the Semitransparent feature of Microsoft Word. When Vizact saves the page, it re-creates the image that is used to display these objects in browsers other than Internet Explorer 5. When it does this, the component used to convert these objects to an image (Microsoft Vector Graphics Rendering Component, vgxedit.dll) does not save them correctly. WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior, you must use Microsoft Word to remove the Semitransparent setting, and then resave the page. To do so, follow these steps:
If you want your object to be transparent or semitransparent, you can add the setting in Vizact 2000. To do so, follow these steps:
MORE INFORMATIONFor more information about using transparency in Microsoft Vizact, click Help and Tutorials on the Help menu, click the Index tab in Microsoft Vizact Help, type the following text transparencyand then double-click transparency, make object partially transparent. NOTE: In some cases, when documents that have been activated in Vizact are edited and modified in a different Office 2000 application, some of the activated content may stop functioning correctly. To prevent this behavior, use Vizact to edit the activated portions of the document. If you have to edit these portions of the document in the original Office 2000 application, keep the changes to a minimum.
