SYMPTOMS
When you save as a Web page a Word document that contains text (or a bulleted/numbered list) with a negative indent, one or both of the following may occur: Case 1The negative indent is ignored, and the text (list) starts at the left margin (zero on the ruler).Case 2When a paragraph containing a negative indent also has an additional modified tab stop (manual tab setting), the text jumps to the second tab stop position.CAUSEBy default, the Disable features not supported by option is selected. This prevents Word from saving features that are not supported by your Web browser. RESOLUTION
To prevent Word from changing the layout of indentations (negative tab stops) when you save as a Web page, turn off the Disable features not supported by option using the following steps:
NOTE: Making this change allows Word to save your Web page with features that may not be supported in your Web browser. However, when you view your Web page in your browser, these features may still not be visible as you intended. When you save as a Web page a Word document that contains features that are not supported by your Web browser, Word warns you with a message similar to the following: For more information about disabling features that aren't supported, click Microsoft Word Help on the Help menu, type "What is disable features not supported by?" in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics returned.
