WD2000: AutoExec and AutoExit Macros Fail to Run

SYMPTOMS

When you open or quit Word, your AutoExec and AutoExit macros fail to run as expected.


CAUSE

If Microsoft Outlook is running with WordMail turned on as your e-mail editor, the AutoExec and AutoExit macros fail to run when you start or quit Word.


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:

  • Quit Microsoft Outlook before you run Word.


  • -or-

  • Turn off WordMail as your e-mail editor.



  • To turn off WordMail in Microsoft Outlook 2000:

    1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


    2. On the Mail Format tab, click to clear the Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages check box.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
