After you apply a custom style linked to an outline level, when you try to demote or promote the text to a different level in outline view, nothing happens. CAUSEThis problem occurs when you try to demote or promote text that is located on the last line of the outline. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, at the end of the text for the outline level you want to change, press ENTER to insert a new blank line. Move your insertion point back to the outline level you want to change, and then click either Demote or Promote to change the outline level of the text. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
