SYMPTOMSWhen you send a document to a mail recipient from Word (on the File menu, point to Send To, and then click Mail Recipient), regardless of your mail format settings in Outlook, the document is sent as HTML format. CAUSEMessages sent from Word are in HTML format, so that your recipients will not require special software to view the message. WORKAROUND
To work around this design behavior, you can send your document as an attachment.
MORE INFORMATION
Similar to the way you send an e-mail message, you can send a copy of a document directly from Microsoft Word. In effect, the document is the message. This makes it easy to collaborate on a document by e-mail, because you can edit the document directly, without having to open or save an attachment.
