SYMPTOMS
When you open a Microsoft Excel worksheet that contains numbers formatted with a currency symbol (for example the dollar or euro symbol), the currency symbol and numbers may be missing or the numbers may show as pound signs (######). CAUSEThe Excel converter (Excel32.cnv) cannot correctly convert numbers that have the Currency or Accounting format applied in Microsoft Excel. WORKAROUNDDo not open the Excel file in Word. To work around this problem, use one of the following methods to bring the Excel data into your Word document. Method 1: Copy and PasteCopy and paste the contents of the Excel worksheet into your Word document.NOTE: To link to the Excel worksheet so that changes made in Excel are updated in Word, click Paste Special on the Edit menu, and click to select Paste link.
