When you activate the extend mode feature by pressing F8 or double-clicking EXT on the status bar, the Word status bar displays a darkened EXT. While extend mode is active, Word selects text when you
press the arrow keys.
However, if you run these commands in a macro, Word always deactivates
extend mode and sets the value of "x" to 0 (zero).NOTE: Both commands operate correctly, returning the actual status of the extend mode feature if you run the commands by clicking the Step Into button in the macro-editing window.
