SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Word, if you insert a link to a Microsoft Excel worksheet as Formatted Text(RTF) and then apply a border to the linked table, the border can be lost when the link is updated. CAUSEUpdating the link causes the original worksheet format to overwrite the bordered object, and the direct paragraph bordering is lost. The "\* MERGEFORMAT" switch does not preserve the borders if it is added to the LINK field. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use either of the following methods:
