SYMPTOMS
After you press CTRL+SHIFT+F8, select a column of text, and then change the font format, the text does not remain selected after you apply the formatting. CAUSE
When you press CTRL+SHIFT+F8, the Vertical Selection mode is activated, and you can use the arrow keys to select a column of text. MORE INFORMATION
When you use the Vertical Selection mode to select a column of text, use only the arrow keys to select the column. Also, do not click into a different column because an unwanted column selection may occur. Additional query words: vertical block selection rectangular
