SYMPTOMS

When you open a Word 2000 document in an earlier version of Word, a blank document containing the following error message may be displayed:

This Page Uses Frames, But Your Browser Doesn't Support Them


CAUSE

The Word document you are trying to open is a frames page that earlier versions of Word do not support.

In Word 2000, a frames page is a container that hosts a group of frames. Frames are usually used in Web sites to make information easier to access or to show the contents of a Web site that has multiple pages.
