WD2000: Web Page Wizard May Show Error After Changing Visual Theme

SYMPTOMS

After you change the Visual Theme in the Web Page Wizard (on the File menu, click New, and then click to select the Web Pages tab), the following error message may appear:

A file error has occurred.
Try one or more of the following:
* Check the disk drive to make sure the disk is properly inserted.
* Check the disk or the disk drive to make sure there is not a hardware problem.
* Check the network connections.
(C:\<path>
When you click OK, the Web Page Wizard quits and a new Web page is not created.


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, quit and restart Word before starting the Web Page Wizard again.

To be sure that Word is completely shut down, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE (on Windows NT, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, click Task Manager, and then view the Applications tab) to view the Close Program (or Windows NT Task Manager) dialog box. If Microsoft Word is listed, select it and click End Task. When the following error message appears, click End Task:

This program is not responding. It may be busy, waiting for a response from you, or it may have stopped running.

- Click Cancel to ignore and return to Windows.

- To close this program immediately, click End Task. You will lose any unsaved information in this program.
NOTE: If you are running Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor in Microsoft Outlook, you need to quit and restart Microsoft Outlook as well.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
