WD2000: Cannot Change Custom Shadow Color for Inline Picture

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to set a custom shadow color for an image, the color does not change as expected.


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you can edit the picture using Word as your picture editor. In the Picture Editor, you can then set your custom shadow color.

To use Word as your picture editor:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. On the Edit tab, click to select Microsoft Word in the Picture editor drop-down list box.


  3. Click OK.


To edit a picture:
  1. Click to select the picture to edit.


  2. On the Edit menu, point to Picture Object, and then click Open.


To set a custom shadow color:
  1. Click to select the image to shadow.


  2. On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click to select Drawing.


  3. On the Drawing toolbar, click the Shadow button to apply a shadow.


  4. On the Shadow toolbar, click the drop-down arrow next the Shadow Color button, and then click More Shadow Colors.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
