CAUSEThis behavior is by design. AutoIndenting is a new feature of Word 2000 when working with bulleted or numbered lists. WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior, you can use one of the following methods: Method 1: Turn Off Automatic Numbering or Bulleting of ListsYou can turn off the automatic numbering or bulleting of lists; however, you then have to apply this formatting manually.
Method 2: Decrease the Indent for the ListTo reset the automatically applied indentation of your list:
