WD2000: "Accept or Reject Changes" Skips Table Cells

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Accept or Reject Changes option (on the Tools menu, click Track Changes) with a Word table in which

  • At least one single table row contains more than one revision


    • -and-


  • Each revision is of a different type (for example, one addition and one deletion),



clicking Find (on the Accept or Reject Changes dialog box) highlights an entire table row. If you then click Accept (in the Accept or Reject Changes dialog box), one type of revision in the single row is accepted, but another type of revision in the same row is ignored.

To process all revisions in a single row of a table, multiple passes must be made using Find and then Accept or Reject.


WORKAROUND

This problem does not occur when you use the Reviewing toolbar. To work around this problem, you can use the Reviewing toolbar (on the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click to view Reviewing) to accept or reject changes while working in a table.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
