ERROR MESSAGE

If you try to print a selection from a document that contains more than one header or footer, the following error message may appear:

Word cannot read the header or footer in this document. Save the document in Rich Text Format, close it, and then reopen it.

Clicking OK several times may close the error message and print the document, or it may cause your system to stop responding (hang).

WHAT TO TRY

You are trying to print a selection that contains more than one section.

To print across sections in a document, follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, click Print.


  2. Click to select the Pages option.


  3. In the Pages box, type the range of pages and sections you want to print. For example, to print from page 4 in section 2 to page 5 in section 5, type "p4s2-p5s5" (without the quotation marks).


  4. Click OK.
