When you are working with a document, the following error message may appear:

The current drive is not valid. A network connection may have been lost, the floppy drive door may be open, or the floppy drive may contain the wrong disk. Choose the Yes button to retry."

Text was copied and pasted from a now closed document into the current document, and Word tried to perform an AutoRecover Save.


WHAT TO TRY

Text was copied and pasted from a now closed document into the current document, and Word tried to perform an AutoRecover Save.

NOTE: For this problem to occur, the now closed document must have been opened from either a disk (or other external drive on your system) or a network drive. To prevent this problem, turn off the Save AutoRecover info every option in Word using the following steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. On the Save tab, click to clear the Save AutoRecover info every check box.


  3. Click OK.
