In Microsoft Word, when you click a hyperlink to another document on your hard disk, the document opens in a new window. CAUSEThis functionality is based on the Single Document Interface (SDI) design, in which each document occupies its own window. This behavior is different from earlier versions of Word, which use the Multiple Document Interface (MDI) design.
