SYMPTOMSWhen you click the arrow for the Font Color toolbar button, the color palette may not drop down. CAUSEThis problem occurs only when you add Font Color to a new or an existing toolbar from either the Format or All Commands category on the Commands tab (On the Format menu, click Customize). WORKAROUNDTo workaround this problem, do one of the following. Copy and Paste the Font Color Toolbar ButtonDo not add Font Color from either the Format or All Commands category on the Commands tab. Instead, copy the Font Color toolbar button on the Formatting toolbar and paste it to your new or existing toolbar.If the Formatting toolbar is not displayed, point to Toolbars on the View menu, and then click to select Formatting. Refresh the Font Color Toolbar ButtonClick Font on the Format menu, and then click Cancel.NOTE: After you refresh the Font Color toolbar button, the color palette drops down correctly during the current session of Word. However, when you restart Word, the problem occurs again. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
