MORE INFORMATION

The Do not check spelling or grammar option formats the selected text so that spelling and grammar errors are ignored within the selection. To set the Do not check spelling or grammar option in Word, do the following steps:

  1. Select the text or paragraph you do not want Word to check.

  2. On the Tools menu, point to Language and then click Set Language.

  3. In the Language dialog box, click to select the Do not check spelling or grammar check box and then click OK.

When you set the Do not check spelling or grammar option on a selected paragraph, Word may not display the following message after Word completes checking your document for spelling and grammar errors:
The spelling and grammar check is complete. Text marked with "Do not check spelling or grammar" was skipped.
