IMPORTANT: This article contains information about editing the registry.
Before you edit the registry, make sure you understand how to restore it if
a problem occurs. For information about how to do this, view the "Restoring
the Registry" Help topic in Regedit.exe or the "Restoring a Registry Key" Help

SYMPTOMS
In Control Panel, when you attempt to change your regional settings for Microsoft Windows to a different country, one country setting may appear repeatedly in the country list.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when you have one of the following non-English versions of Microsoft Word 2000 installed:
WORKAROUND
To resolve this problem, use either of the following methods:
Method 1: Use the Regional Settings Removal Tool, LangInf.exe, to remove the registry entries.
The following file is available for download from the Microsoft
Download Center. Click the file name below to download the file:
LangInf.exe
Release Date: Oct-21-1999
For more information about how to download files from the Microsoft Download
Center, please visit the Download Center at the following Web address
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp
and then click How to use the Microsoft Download Center.
- Download LangInf.exe.
- LangInf.exe will ask you where to install the three files: ARA_fix.inf, HBR_fix.inf, and Readme.txt.
- After the files are installed, go to that folder to see them. Right-click the file you want (ARA_fix.inf for Arabic or HBR_fix.inf for Hebrew).
- Click Install. It runs quickly and ends silently.
- Restart your computer.
The registry entries should be removed. See method 2 below for a list of entries removed.
Method 2: Remove the registry entries manually.
WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that
may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor
can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys and
Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete
Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in
Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it.
If you are running Windows NT, you should also update your Emergency
Repair Disk (ERD).

- Quit all Windows programs.
- On the Windows Start menu, click Run.
