WD2000: Pleading Wizard Document Text Doesn't Match Line Numbers

SYMPTOMS

When you type text into the document created by the Pleading Wizard, the text does not align with the page line numbers in the left margin.


CAUSE

The first paragraph mark in the pleading document created by the Pleading Wizard is incorrectly formatted with 12.7-point line spacing.


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, either delete the first paragraph mark of the document, or reformat the first paragraph with 25.4-point line spacing. Use either of the following methods appropriate for your situation:

Method 1: Delete the First Paragraph Mark

  1. Press CTRL+HOME to ensure that the insertion point is on the first line of the pleading document.


  2. Press DELETE to delete the first line of the pleading document.


Method 2: Reformat the First Paragraph Mark to 25.4-Point Line Spacing

  1. Press CTRL+HOME to ensure that the insertion point is on the first line of the pleading document.


  2. On the Format menu, click Paragraph.


  3. On the Indents and Spacing tab, next to the Line Spacing box, change the At box to 25.4 pt and then click OK.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
