SYMPTOMSScribbles generated by using AutoShapes are connected with a straight line when saved in RTF or Word 6.0/95 format. A polynomial line, when saved in RTF or Word 6.0/ 95, becomes a closed shape. The beginning and end of the line are connected with a straight line. CAUSEWhen Word 2000 creates the Word 6.0/95 RTF file, Word 2000 always saves the polylines as polygons, because it does not check whether the figure is open (a polyline), or closed (a polygon).
