WD2000: Beginning and End of Scribbles Are Connected When Saved in Word 95 Format

ID: Q244148

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word 2000

SYMPTOMS

Scribbles generated by using AutoShapes are connected with a straight line when saved in RTF or Word 6.0/95 format. A polynomial line, when saved in RTF or Word 6.0/ 95, becomes a closed shape. The beginning and end of the line are connected with a straight line.

CAUSE

When Word 2000 creates the Word 6.0/95 RTF file, Word 2000 always saves the polylines as polygons, because it does not check whether the figure is open (a polyline), or closed (a polygon).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
