WD2000: Opening Word 95 Document Causes Video Corruption/Hang

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Word for Windows 95 document in Word 2000, different color lines and dots may appear within the text of the document, and your computer system may stop responding (hang).

This problem is known to occur with the following video adapter cards and driver versions:

  • VooDoo 3 3500TV-based Accelerator



RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, download and install the updated video driver for version 1.02.18 or later. An updated video driver can be obtained from 3dfx Interactive, Inc. from the following Web address:
