ID: Q105912

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c
  • Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, versions 6.0, 6.0.1
  • Microsoft Word for Windows 95, versions 7.0, 7.0a

SYMPTOMS

If you use the mouse to resize a frame that contains a single picture, Word for Windows resizes the picture along with the frame. You cannot resize the frame without also resizing the picture. Word does not distinguish the selection of the frame from the selection of the picture.

WORKAROUND

To resize a frame without also scaling the picture inside the frame, follow these steps:

  1. Select the frame.

  2. On the Format menu, click Frame.

  3. In the Format Frame dialog box, adjust the settings in the Size box and then click OK.
