SYMPTOMSWord for Windows shows the wrong description for the \p switch. If you select Fields from the Insert menu, choose TOC from Field Names, choose Options, and select \p, the following description is shown: \p Defines the separator between the sequence value and the page number. This is actually the same as the description given for the \d switch. The correct description is found in Help, which lists the following: \p Specifies the separator character used between a table entry and its page number. For example, the field {toc \p "---"} displays a result such as "Selecting Text---53." The default is a tab with leader dots. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows versions 6.0, 6.0a, and 6.0c. This problem was corrected in Word version 7.0 for Windows 95. This problem was also corrected in Word version 6.0 for Windows NT. Additional query words: 6.0 docerr winword word6
