Undocumented Settings for WINWORD6.INI, WIN.INI, EQNEDIT.INI
ID: Q109870
|
The information in this article applies to:
-
Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c
-
Microsoft Windows 3.1
The following .INI settings are not documented in the Word 6.0 for Windows
WDREADME.HLP file:
WINWORD6.INI
[Microsoft Word]
NoLongNetNames=yes/no Disables UNC filename support. The default is No.
OLEDOT=<templatename> Sets the template that Word will use on new
Word document objects.
WIN.INI
[MAIL]
MAPIDLL=<pathname> Sets the MAPI DLL for mail support to
anything other than the default. Used for VIM
support with the MAPIVIM.DLL file. <Pathname>
must point to the MAPI messaging DLL.
EQNEDIT.INI
[General]
ForceOpen=1/0 Sets in-place or open edit mode. Setting to 1
forces Equation Editor to always start in
Open mode for editing. The default is 0.
Note: Equation Editor 2.0 online Help (EQNEDIT.HLP) incorrectly states that
the ForceOpen setting is in the WIN.INI. This is not true; the ForceOpen
setting is located in the EQNEDIT.INI file, as stated here.
