Screen May Be Garbled or Hang with Some Graphics Cards

SYMPTOMS

If you are using the Fahrenheit 1280 video card and drivers supplied by Orchid Technologies, you may experience the following problems:

• The video display may be garbled.



• The system may stop responding (hang) when you load Word.



• The system may stop responding (hang) when you run the Tip of the Day.

STATUS

Orchid Technologies has confirmed that there may be problems running Word 6.0 for Windows with its video drivers. Orchid has corrected these problems and provides an upgraded BIOS and driver. The new BIOS is version 3.0 and the corresponding driver is 7.0

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, change the video driver to VGA or Super VGA.
