SYMPTOMS
When you edit a Microsoft Equation Editor 2.0 object in a separate window,
the equation displays at 100-percent zoom, regardless of the Zoom setting
in the [General] section of your EQNEDIT.INI file, the View Zoom dialog
box, or on the Equation Editor status bar.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Equation Editor 2.0, which ships with Word 6.0 for Windows. This problem was corrected in Equation Editor 2.0a, which ships with version 6.0a of Word for Windows. To obtain Word 6.0a, call the Microsoft Order Desk at (800) 360-7561 and request Word version 6.0a for Windows. If you are outside the United States, contact your local subsidiary. To locate your subsidiary, see the Microsoft World Wide Offices Web site at: http://www.microsoft.com/worldwide/default.htm WORKAROUNDIn Equation Editor, open the View menu and choose the desired zoom percentage. Equation Editor then displays the equation at the correct zoom percentage. For example, if the status bar displays "Zoom: 400%", choose 400% from the View menu. MORE INFORMATION
By default, Word edits your Microsoft Equation Editor 2.0 objects in place
when you originally insert them or double-click them to edit them. If you
want Word to open your equations in a separate window, select the equation,
then choose Equation Object from the Edit menu, then choose Open from the
cascading menu that appears.
For information about editing EQNEDIT.INI, refer to online Help in a
separate Equation Editor window or query on eqnedit.ini in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
Cannot Change Equation Zoom During In-Place EditingBy design, when you edit a Microsoft Equation Editor 2.0 object in place in Word for Windows, the zoom commands on the View toolbar (100%, 200%, 400%, Zoom) are unavailable (dimmed), so you cannot change the zoom percentage of your equation. During in-place editing, the View menu reflects the current zoom setting in Word instead of the one you set for Equation Editor in the [General] section of your EQNEDIT.INI file.REFERENCES"Microsoft Word User's Guide," version 6.0, pages 605-607 Additional query words: 6.0 eqnedit eq ed ole server word6 winword ole2 gray grey grayed greyed inplace insitu custsales
