SYMPTOMSWhen you apply paragraph indent formatting to the Label Address text in the Tools Envelopes And Labels dialog box, Word for Windows may not retain that formatting when you print the labels or add them to a new document. CAUSEWord fails to retain the indent formatting when you apply it to a paragraph other than the first paragraph in the Label Address box. For example, if you apply a .5-inch left indent to the second paragraph, it displays indented in the Tools Envelopes And Labels dialog box, but when you print the label or choose the New Document button, Word removes the indent formatting. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. WORKAROUND
Method 1: Insert tabs (by pressing CTRL+TAB) to manually indent lines in your labels.
