SYMPTOMSIn Word 6.0 for Windows if you print a document containing a drawing object in duplex mode to a Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet IID, IIID or IIISi, the page with the drawing object will not print duplexed (that is, the page prints only on one side). CAUSEWhen you print a drawing object, Word sends a form feed command to the printer, not allowing the printer to print on the back of the page containing the drawing object. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows versions 6.0 and 6.0a. This problem was corrected in Word version 6.0c for Windows. WORKAROUND
If you select the drawing object and from the Insert menu and choose Frame,
the drawing will be converted to a framed object in the text layer. A
framed object will print duplex correctly. You will lose some of the
advantages of a drawing layer object such as, superimposing an object over
text.
