ID: Q115128

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c
  • Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, versions 6.0, 6.0.1, 6.0.1a

SYMPTOMS

If you paste a Microsoft Excel 5.0 worksheet object that has been formatted with a double-line outside border into a Microsoft Word document, the object is displayed and printed with a single-line border.

In Word, if you select the object and edit it, modify the border, and update the object, the border continues to be displayed and printed incorrectly with a single-line border.

WORKAROUND

Instead of pasting the object into Word as a Microsoft Excel 5.0 worksheet object, click Paste Special on the Edit menu, and select the Formatted

Text (RTF) option.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition using Excel 98 Macintosh Edition.
