SYMPTOMS
If you copy all or part of a Word for Windows document to the Windows
Clipboard, quit and restart Word, and then paste the document from the
Clipboard into a new document, Word does not retain the document's page
formatting (specifically, margins and paper size). Word frequently changes
the paper size to a custom size.
CAUSEQuitting Word 6.0 removes some of the formatting information from the Word document on the Windows Clipboard. When you restart Word and paste the document, Word applies new formatting to replace the missing formatting. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word 6.0 and 6.0a for Windows. This problem was corrected in Word version 6.0 for Windows NT. This problem was corrected in Word version 7.0 for Windows 95.
