WD6X: Can't Disable Scroll Box Movement in WordBasic Macro

SYMPTOMS

If you turn off screen updating in your Word for the Macintosh macro using the WordBasic ScreenUpdating statement, the scroll box may still move along the scroll bar. In other words, the ScreenUpdating statement does not prevent display changes on the scroll bar.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 6.0 for the Macintosh. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

When screen updating is turned off (ScreenUpdating 0), movements of the scroll box in response to the following WordBasic statements may display on the screen:
