IA Deletes Auto Macros from Downloaded Templates

SYMPTOMS

You may receive the following WordBasic error 1517 when opening a Word document, template, or HTML file that contains autoexecuting macros:

"Word cannot find the designated menu item"


CAUSE

Internet Assistant deletes AutoOpen, AutoClose, and AutoNew macros from documents and templates to prevent the possibility of a downloaded Word document executing any damaging macros, such as files being erased files from the hard disk.


MORE INFORMATION

Internet Assistant automatically removes any Auto macros from a document that is opened. This is done to insure that you are not faced with the risk of a destructive Auto macro starting when a Word document from Internet is opened.
