SYMPTOMSWhen you open an HTML document, it converts to an empty document. CAUSECase 1: The Startup-Path statement in the [Microsoft Word] section of the WINWORD6.INI file includes a trailing backslash (\) at the end of the path, or the Startup-Path statement is not in the WINWORD6.INI file. For example:
Case 2: The command line for Word contains an /a switch. For example:
The /a switch is use to start Word without any templates or add-
ins.
Case 3: The shareware product WordWare installs an AutoOpen macro in Normal.dot that causes an HTML document to open as a blank document. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Internet Assistant for Word for Windows versions 1.0, and 1.0z. This problem was corrected in Internet Assistant version 2.0 for Word for Windows 95. RESOLUTIONCase 1: Edit the WINWORD6.INI file, and remove the trailing backslash or add the correct statement so that the Startup-Path statement looks like this:
Case 2: Remove the /a switch from the command line.
