SGML: Window Handle Error 5033 Saving with SaveAsSGML Macro

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to save a document as SGML with the SaveAsSGML macro, you receive the following error message

SaveAsSGML: Get Window Handle Error

with the following error number:

5033

After you choose OK, the conversion completes, and the macro displays the feedback (*.FBK) and SGML (*.sgm) files.

CAUSE

Forms document protection was applied to the Word document. This error will appear whether Forms Protection was on when the document was saved or applied before you tried to save the document as SGML.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem for a document saved with Forms Protection on, choose Unprotect Document from the Tools menu and choose Save from the File menu before you use the SaveAsSGML macro.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SGML Author version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
