  • Microsoft Word for Windows 95, version 7.0
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0a, 6.0c

SYMPTOMS

In Internet Assistant, when you apply multilevel numbering to list items, the secondary and subsequent levels display with the incorrect numbering, as shown below:

  1. This is line #1

  2. This is line #2

  3. This is line #3

  4. This is line #3.1

  5. This is line #3.2

  6. This is line #4

  7. This is line #5

This behavior occurs when you apply the List Number,OL style and use the Increase Indent and Decrease Indent buttons on the Formatting toolbar to set the levels of your list.

In Internet Assistant version 1.0 and 1.0z this behavior also occurs when you choose Multilevel Numbering from the Format menu and once again use the Increase Indent and Decrease Indent buttons to control the levels of the list. This doesn't occur in Internet Assistant version 2.0.

Although the list displays incorrectly, the HTML markup is correct. When you save, close and reopen the HTML document, your list displays correctly.

WORKAROUND

Save, close, and reopen the document to correct the display.
